Common questions
If yours is not here, call the office and ask.
I don’t have dental insurance. What will a visit cost?
If you do not have dental insurance, most people in that position join the practice’s own membership plan: your first exam and x-rays are free, everything else is discounted, and there is no annual maximum or waiting period. It runs $325–350 per person per year. If you would rather pay as you go, that is fine too — you will get the price before any work starts, and we can spread larger treatment over a payment plan.
Link to this answerDo you take my insurance?
Whether we take your insurance is two separate questions, and it is worth knowing which is which. The office files claims with any carrier on your behalf, so your plan pays whatever it covers either way. Whether the practice is in network with your particular plan is the part that changes what you pay out of pocket — call (631) 689-3226 and the front desk will confirm yours before you come in.
Link to this answerI have not seen a dentist in years.
If you have not seen a dentist in years, you will not be the first one this week. Dr. Sheth describes her own work as painless, comfortable dentistry, and treats patients “with a gentle touch as if they were my friends or family”. A first visit is an exam and a conversation: you get a written treatment plan, and nothing happens until you agree to it.
Link to this answerSomething hurts today. Can you see me?
If something hurts today, call (631) 689-3226 and ask to be seen. The office welcomes emergency cases and will do its best to see you promptly — several of the reviews on this site are from people who were fitted in the same day.
Link to this answerWhat happens at a first visit?
A first visit is an exam, x-rays, and a discussion of what we find and what your options are. Dr. Sheth then puts together a treatment plan built around your priorities rather than a standard list. Consultations are free for new patients.
Link to this answerDo you see children?
Yes, we see children — cleanings, sealants and sports mouth guards, alongside the rest of the family. A number of the families here have been coming for two generations.
Link to this answerWhere do I park?
You park in the lot directly in front of Building 12D, at no charge. There is no garage, no ticket and no lobby to find — the door is a few steps from the car.
Link to this answerStill deciding? A first visit is an exam, x-rays and a written plan — free for new patients, and nothing happens until you agree to it.
